First download iNaturalist on your phone. To identify a specimen follow these steps
First take a clear picture of the leaves of the plant or the bug or animal that you are trying to ID. If you are taking a pic of a tree, it is better to get a clear shot of flowers, leaves, cones, needles rather than the whole tree.
